Our most special sail thus far took place at the end of August enroute to Herrington Harbour South Marina Resort for Shannon's wedding. We were joined by the groom as well as the bride's brother and his very special girlfriend. Additional special guests joined us from Spain as they had travelled in to help celebrate the special occasion.
Despite the expected summer heat, we were blessed with favorable light winds which enabled us to reach down close to Thomas Point light and across to Bloody Point light before jibing across and straight into the harbour in North Beach, Maryland. A great relaxing sail was enjoyed by all and we could not have scripted the day any better enroute to what would be a lovely destination wedding.

The time difference with Spain eventually took its toll as we gently sailed our broad reach.
A beautiful sunrise on the morning of our departure sent us on our way.
Our return trip to Annapolis was a bit quieter at first as we sailed out and across the bay toward Poplar Island before needing to turn north and finding insufficient breeze to reach home without the iron genny. It was reassuring though to cruise at a steady 7 knots without any overheating issues which had plagued us earlier in the season. All in all, it was a nice return trip with the newlyweds.
