| Safe Room 3/4" Plexiglass Option - Watch your toes though! |

After six months of carefully lifting and setting a great set of 3/4" plexiglass hatch boards each time we entered or exited the boat, we were able to install a beautiful set of teak companionway doors with removable panels and screen inserts. Having had a set of these doors on our previous Catalinas, we really missed the ability to enter and exit quickly as well as the option to let air flow through the screens during the evenings.
The heavier plexiglass hatch boards and their substantial lock will be great when we venture out beyond the Chesapeake and need to secure the cabin from undesirable entries, but they sure made it difficult for the folks needing to let Cassie in and out each day and we worried someone would drop one on their toes during the process. The new saloon type doors are being well received by the help!
And yes, the original set of teak hatch boards are still on the boat although one still needs varnishing..
